Welcome to Angier, a wonderful and unique neighborhood school that serves both local families and military families. Our students bring the excitement of a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities from all over the country and the world. Parents describe Angier as a warm and caring school, and our dedicated staff is proud to make school a place where students love to come every day.

Our school sits nestled in the Serra Mesa community, serves both military and civilian families. We have a diverse student population, which includes many cultures and ethnicities.

What helps set the tenor of our school is our code of character, The Angier Way. Students can be a star if they follow the five points of the Angier Way star: Honor Self, Honor Others, Honor Environment, Honor Achievement and Honor Peace.

Teachers, parents and guardians and community partners work together to help all students achieve their greatest potential. Angier has a very active Parent-Teacher Organization. Our unique partnership with Toby Wells YMCA provides free gymnastics, swimming and soccer lessons during the school day.

We have something to shout about! Angier made several 2009 Top Ten Performer lists in the District. We are excited and ready to do it again in 2011!

Our upper grade students participate in the program that has proven to boost academic achievement, the Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID).We believe that building positive relationships and using best teaching practices across the curriculum results in higher student performance and the development of lifelong learners. In the center of our school, our library helps integrate literacy into all areas of study.

We have a unique community partnership with the Toby Wells YMCA who provides free gymnastics, swimming and soccer lessons during the instructional day. Our site provides a morning and after school enrichment program through the free PrimeTime Extended School Day Program, that includes opportunities for students to receive homework support and small group instruction by credentialed teachers. At Angier, parents, teachers and community partners work together to help all students achieve their greatest potential.

We are committed to communicating with and engaging parents as partners. We recognize and value the importance of parent involvement because parents are teachers too. Parents are welcome at school and in our classrooms. We believe children do better when parents are informed and involved. We count on parent support to help us accelerate gains in student performance. Find out how you can get involved on the Parent-Teacher Organization or a school governance committee. These are wonderful opportunities to make new friends.
